7 March Recital with Keith Lewis (tenor)
This recital is part of the NZ International Arts Festival and will take place at the Wellington Town Hall starting at 7.30pm. Keith has chosen a beautiful program of songs by Purcell (in realisations by Benjamin Britten), Britten himself and Samuel Barber. As well there will be the premiere of a song cycle by Jenny McLeod - ‘Peaks of Cloud’. This has been commissioned by Keith and the poems are by Janet Frame...brilliant.

21 March PianoPlayDay
The annual piano pig-out will be held as usual in the Great Hall of the Christchurch Arts Centre and will feature a goodly number of dedicated piano maniacs playing from a wide-ranging and interesting repertoire. Should start around 10am and go until around 4pm or the last pianist expires...whichever comes first. I’m planning to play the Kapustin 2nd sonata. Christopher Marshall and Gerald Johnstone are the geniuses behind this terrific event and are obviously too modest to accept knighthoods.
28 March Recital with Ashley Brown (cello)
This is part of a series of concerts by the sea held in charming Paekakariki on the Kapiti Coast and put together by Mary Gow (marygow@gmail.com). The Paekakariki Memorial Hall is the venue and the concert starts at 2.30pm. We will play a fabulous program with the two Beethoven sonatas Op.102, the Fauré Elegy and the huge and beautiful Rachmaninoff sonata.
5 April Ashley in Featherston
The above concert is repeated in the Featherston Anzac Hall starting at 2pm. Yes, it is Easter Monday and I plan to make a simnel cake.
10 April Ashley in Auckland
Our third performance of the programme is in Auckland at the Raye Freedman Arts Centre (www.rayefreedmanarts.co.nz) starting at 7pm
